TOP FIFTEEN: December Songs.

Hello, hi and welcome! It's now December, can you really believe it?! Another year has come and gone and it's time to welcome another one.

So, for the final time of 2015, I'm writing my most listened to songs of this month.
Enjoy :-)

FIFTEEN:

Sam Smith - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

Although I have been loving a lot of music this month, I've also been loving my Christmas playlist too. This has been the most listened to song though without a doubt. I love Sam Smith, I love this song, I love Christmas - what more could I possibly want?!

FOURTEEN:

Chris Brown - Who's Gonna(NOBODY).

The second CB released his album I was listening to it non-stop. I wasn't as pleased as I was expecting to be if I'm honest. But I love this song, it's quite a naughty song by Mr Brown but I accept it from him - he could sing me a Tesco receipt and I'd like it.

THIRTEEN:

Gardiner Sisters - Drag Me Down x As Long As You Love Me.

I'm not a huge fan of mash-up's and covers BUT I really love this one. They do it so well you don't even notice their transition between the songs, they do it so smoothly. It's one of the best covers out there AND it's on Spotify - that's how you know it's good.

TWELVE:

Hailee Steinfeld - Rock Bottom.

I was quite late listening to Hailee Steinfeld's EP, but it's honestly been one of my favourites this year along with Alessia Cara's. She's so talented and underrated it's frustrating. I love the beat to this song, even though it's quite a sad song it still makes you want to dance on your bed and sing into your hairbrush - which i definitely do not do. Ahem.

Favourite Lyric: "We're on the right side of rock bottom, and to you I just keep crawling. You're the best kind of bad something 'cus we keep on coming back for more."

ELEVEN:

AURORA - Half The World Away.

Yes, I know it's an Oasis song. Yes, I know it's from an advert. BUT, I love her version(and the advert). I also love her voice, I've been told to listen to her other original songs which I definitely will be doing in the new year at some point, she reminds me of a mixture between Birdy and Lauren Aquilana who are two of my favourite female artists.

Favourite Lyrics: "I can feel the warning signs, running around my mind. And if I can leave this spirit, find me a hole and I'll live in it."

TEN:

Meghan Trainer - I'll Be Home.

I LOVE this. A sweet christmas edition she slyly slipped onto her debut album Title as a special edition. It's quite different for her style as usually her songs are quite up-temp, 60's inspired music with a few saxophones in the background. But this song is a slow, calm christmas song to get you in the festive mood.

NINE:

Troye Sivan - TALK ME DOWN.

I have a confession. I have only, in my life, watched two Troye Sivan youtube videos. One with Tyler Oakley, one with Marcus Butler. I have never been into his youtube videos personally, that's nothing against him at all though. When he released his Wild EP I literally became obsessed with it thanks to my friend Abi who sang it on skype over and over. So when he released his album Blue Neighbourhood I was genuinely really looking forward to it.

And I loved it(might review it in the near future). This is one of my favourite songs from the album, it reminds me of Lana Del Rey meets The Weeknd, it has that kind of cool vibe to it.

Favourite Lyrics: "I wanna sleep next to you, and that's all I wanna do."

EIGHT:

One Direction - Wolves.

YEP, still a favourite. Sorry, not sorry. Out of the entire album Wolves is the only song I've listened to repeatedly. It hasn't changed weekly as I assumed it would, I've actually stayed obsessed with it. I'm just holding on to this little piece of them now they're on hiatus *bites fist to prevent self from crying whilst whispering "come back"*.

SEVEN:

Chris Brown - Discover.

This has such an old school vibe to it and I love it. Breezy has famously taken quite a dance/pop route the past few years, for example: Five More Hours, Yeah x3, Beautiful People. I thought that was it, he'd finished with his classic RnB tunes. But nope, he plops this cheeky number on the album and it's like 2009 Chris Brown all over again and I could weep with joy. I think it may be inspired by his fiery break-up with his recent ex-girlfriend Karreuche(I think that's how you spell it..?)

Favourite Lyrics: "She deserves to up and leave, if it was me I'd do the same. I see the light that she holds, I'd be damned to let her go."

SIX:

Kina Grannis - I Was Made For Loving You x Please Don't Say You Love Me.

Another cover, another mash-up. This time two of my favourite songs; I Was Made For Loving You by Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran and Please Don't Say You Love Me by Gabrielle Aplin WHO by the way was my most listened to person of 2015 apparently according to Spotify(I've only had my account since August though..)

Anyway, another lovely cover that I haven't been able to stop listening to, she also transitions both songs so well, I'm surprised no one else has thought to do these songs before as they're so great together.

FIVE:

Justin Bieber - Been You.

I don't know when this song won't be in my top ten/fifteen/twenty. I love it so much, it's always the first song I put on when I open my spotify. It's just a feel good, get you moving song.

FOUR:

Hailee Steinfeld - You're Such A.

Okay, the first week of December was literally spent listening to this song. When my mum came to Berlin for a few days she got sick of listening to it. I have no idea what it is about this song, I just love it and the rest of her EP. Like I said, she's seriously underrated. There's not one song on her EP I dislike, I recommend everyone to listen to her. This song is like a conversation she's having with whoever it is that has done her wrong, it's written so cleverly, as if you're intruding on the conversation itself.

Favourite Lyrics: "Did you think that I would let you, crawl right back into my bedroom? After everything we been through?"

THREE:

Troye Sivan - FOOLS.

Oh man. The love I have for this song is unreal. I kind of want to bow down to Troye for writing this, he is a lyrical angel. It's one of those songs you listen to and you're like "hot damn that's so true". It really makes you think.

Favourite Lyrics: "I see swimming pools, and living rooms and airplanes, I see a little house on a hill and children's names."

TWO:

The Vamps - I Found A Girl.

I added this song to my December playlist within 30 seconds of hearing it, I fell in love with it that quickly. It's so cheeky and typical, it also reminds me of a song Rixton might write, it has their type of vibe to it so maybe that's why I like it.

ONE:

Who Is Fancy ft Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainer - Boys Like You.

Where do I even begin with my love for this song? I love it so, so much I wouldn't be surprised if it was my most played song of December. Their voices are so perfect together, you can feel the soul in the music too; which I love. It's so old school and 60's inspired, kind of like a Little Mix - Love Me Like You vibe, which is probably why I love it so much.

Favourite Lyrics: "Try, try, try to follow the rules, I break every one of them with boys like you. My oh my, doing what I always do, crossing every line to get to boys like you."

There you have it! My last playlist update of 2015! Hope you've enjoyed reading, it'll be back January 2016 :-)

Natalie xx
