#2 A Chat With Nat.

Hello, hi and welcome! New month, new chat with Nat where I talk about whatever I want and try not to bore you.

LEGGO.

PRINCE.

Last month I was sad to hear about Prince. He was an inspiration to so many, and a true legendary artist that will live on forever in music. 2016 hasn't treated us well with those we are losing, I just hope he's now at peace.

Rest in Peace, Prince. X

BILLBOARD NOMINATIONS.

So, recently the Billboard Awards released all of their nominees. Although I feel like the nominees were deserving - let's not neglect that - I also feel a little frustrated with the music industry.

I found myself reading 'Taylor Swift', 'Justin Bieber' and 'Adele' so many times I had to check I was reading the right website.

I'm a little confused, that's all. I mean Taylor Swift is nominated for a lot and her album was released late 2014, but so was Justin Bieber and Adele whose albums were out late 2015.

So my question is why aren't the artists who released their albums during 2015 being celebrated?

Tori Kelly hasn't received a single nomination nor has: Sia, Fifth Harmony, Meghan Trainor, Troye Sivan,The 1975 or Lana Del Rey who have all had music out during the same time as Taylor Swift and even before Bieber and Adele.

Main baes Little Mix went completely ignored which annoyed me. They work hard, their album was one of my favourite albums of 2015 and they yet again go ignored.

One Direction received two awards neither to do with their album. Alessia Cara was nominated for one category, the 'Top RnB song' along with The Weeknd who has three songs in that category - How is that fair? I'm sure there was two other RnB songs they could have put in there instead of just listing his.

I won't be watching the awards or caring to search on Twitter for the winners - it'll be no surprise. Bieber will win all the solo male awards, Adele or Taylor Swift will win the solo female and Drake or The Weeknd will win everything to do with RnB and rap so they appear multicultural(lol).

What are your opinions?

(My three favourite pieces).

BEYONCÈ - IVY PARK X TOPSHOP COLLAB.

EVERYONE STAY CALM, NOBODY PANIC: Beyonce has gone and SLAYED us all and released a gym/sport wear line with Topshop(or Zalando if you're in Europe like me..)

The second I saw this on Topshop's Instagram I instantly went to their website to look at all of the pieces and I wasn't let down either - I liked 90% of the stuff which isn't such good news for my bank account.

I chose those three as my favourite pieces as they are all to die for and I could imagine myself basically living in them(and not actually working out..) Well done Beyonce, hats off to you.

COACHELLA.

Last month we saw all the it-girls and A-list celebs flee to some American desert to listen to live music and compete to post the most hipster instagrams - otherwise known as Coachella Weekend.

Although I personally don't like festivals, I do envy those at Coachella. Unlike British festivals there seems to be a fair mix of socialising and good music. No photos of someone's piss flying everywhere, or someone throwing up from taking too much E or rainy, miserable weather.

Coachella seems to be like a classy Glastonbury really.

The main reason people love Coachella is the fashion. I loved so many peoples outfits this year but I'll give you a break down of my faves.

Kendall Jenner. Obvs.

Vanessa Hudgens aka the festival queen.

Bella Thorne. I loved all of her outfits but this was my favourite.

LEMONADE.

So you may or may not know that Beyonce released her visual album. I don't have Tidal as I'm a loyal Spotify listener but someone shared the whole thing onto my timeline on Facebook so I watched it.

I know it's caused controversy blah blah blah but really all my question is: why can't you just do an album and release it like you used to and let the world listen?

It's all kind of gotten too crazy with Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal all competing against one another.

Anywho, back to yoncè's album, sorry, visual album. I have mixed feelings. I didn't like a majority of the songs, and I didn't know which songs I did like as I forgot what it was called the second the next one started playing. Also:

1. I didn't get why Serena Williams was in it, she's a professional tennis player. The last thing she needs to do is twerk in a music video. I know beyonce wanted 'influential women' but that was a little problematic in my eyes.

2. This whole 'Becky with the good hair' drama is too much. It's now becoming a thing like Beyoncé made 'Flawless' and 'I woke up like this' a thing. I bet in months to come there will be tshirts and hats stating 'I'm becky with the good hair' being sold down the market. You wait.

3. The whole Jay-Z cheating plot storyline malarkey is a headache in itself. I think it's just PR, and it's gotten the reaction it's wanted. Bravo.

MET GALA.

The Met Gala or Met Ball is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. It's supposed to mark the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit..(So basically everyone goes to dress up really posh and talk with A-list Hollywood big shots).

The Met Gala is known for having themes every year that people have to dress accordingly to. For example, in 2014 the theme was Charles James: Beyond Fashion, in 2015 the theme was China: Through The Looking Glass(yes, with that iconic Rihanna dress..) and this year's was Manus X Machina: Fashion In The Age Of Technology.

I have to say I was pretty surprised looking through everyone's outfits, there were only four people who I really liked:

Emma Watson looked flawless.

Hailee Steinfeld. I'm not too sure what's futuristic or technological about this look BUT I love it, if I was rich and famous I'd wear this dress too. Less is more.

Blake Lively. Blake always looks stunning at events, and I also don't know what's futuristic or technological about this but it's Blake Lively so who cares. I want this dress as my wedding dress please.

Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely. So simple and beautiful, I love it!

BIRDY - BEAUTIFUL LIES.

I've always been a big fan of Birdy and I've been loving her new album recently! My favourite songs at the minute are Wild Horses, Deep End and Lost It All.

Thanks for reading! Hope I haven't bored you too much..

Until next time..

Natalie xx
