Hello, hi and welcome! So today has been the day women around the world are celebrated for being exactly that - a woman.
I don't speak out about my opinion on feminism because I have never felt the need to. I don't feel like feminism should really be a discussion - unless it's severely important because I feel everyone should be a feminist.
Everyone should want equality.
Although I know this isn't reality and far from the truth but I know in my head what I do and don't believe in and I am in fact a feminist.
I thought I would use this blog post to highlight the women who inspire me daily.
My Mum - She is by far one of the most hilarious, intelligent, courageous women I know. She takes everything in her stride and no matter what is thrown at her, she deals with it head on no matter how painful or stressful. She can make me feel better without words, she knows the solution to everything and has taught me everything there is to know about being a woman, for that I thank you, mum.
My Little Sister - My little sister Leah is only eleven but she has taught me so much without knowing. She's witty and knows herself, she knows more about life than I did at that age and that's because she's educated herself. She doesn't let herself get blindsided or look up to the wrong role models.
My Friends - I have a handful of friends who I hold close to my heart and feel they all inspire me differently. Whether it's through makeup, career choices or making decisions I would be half the woman I am without my friends.
My Manager - My manager has a heart of solid gold. She's kind-hearted, generous and honest. I respect her beyond words and I couldn't have gotten through the past six months in my job without her. She's open-minded and gives the best advice. She inspires me to be better and I thank her for that.
My Previous Boss In Berlin - The lady I worked for in Berlin inspired me throughout that year I was with her. I found out things I never knew about myself and it inspired me as a woman to be stronger, not be so naive and to not always see in black and white.
Rihanna - Rihanna is the epitome of a female boss. She sets goals but achieves higher than them. She's not just a singer but an entrepreneur, designer, actress, business woman and above all that she's an independent, fierce woman who has overcome traumatic experiences by being better than them.
Victoria Beckham - A fierce feminist herself, Victoria Beckham has always been an inspiration of mine ever since I was that six year old kid with the Spice World jumper at Wembley screaming to "Spice Up Your Life". Even though she has gone on to have one of the most successful designer brands this century, she hasn't forgetten about Girl Power ever, and has infiltrated that through her work.
I also have a 'Anthems For Women' playlist on Spotify with nothing but empowering songs if you want to listen, just type in natalieannstoddart and my playlists come up!
Thank you reading, do you have any inspiring women in your life?
"Behind every successful woman is herself."
