PRAY FOR THE WORLD.

Hello, hi and welcome. A little bit of a different topic today.

Last night I read the horrors of the Paris attacks and I'm sure like many other people, I was completely heartbroken.

I'm only twenty and I'm just trying to figure myself out never mind the world and the way it works. But how can I?

The world is a scary place.

I have no words really, to describe what I feel towards this whole situation. There aren't words.

When will people learn that killing one another doesn't solve anything? World hunger hasn't been solved by it, nor has poverty. So why can't the world wake up and see that this will not be solved either?

I cannot even begin to imagine the fear of walking through my home city. Imagine? Just for one second imagine.

We find ourselves so caught up in our own lives and the world of celebrity; whose wearing what, how much did that cost, whose sleeping with who, whose just bought a house for 3.5 million.

And of course, I'm also guilty for caring too much about this too. Because that's human nature and the world of social media.

And it's sad that it takes such devastating actions to shake us all up a bit to remember what's important.

Life is important. Telling those people you love is important. Making sure you act with kindness is important.

I don't really respect those celebrities who say #prayforparis just because they've been told by their manager to. Don't just write something because it's a #. Actually do it. Pray.

I prayed last night, I'm a catholic, I've been baptised and I believe in God and Jesus Christ himself.

You see, I'm at an advantage already because I thankfully live in a country where I am able to say what I believe in and I'm proud to believe in.

There are still so many countries that can't.

That is why I say pray for the world. Sadly, it's not just Paris to witness trauma. Japan faced a 7.0 magnitude earthquake with tsunami warnings, Baghdad and Lebanon have also faced suicide bombings killing around 50 people.

This is why we should pray for the world.

I'm not saying you shouldn't pray or worry about your own problems, we all have them and they're all big to us whether or not the world sees them as that.

But try to think; will it matter in a day? A week? A month? Six months? A year? If no, then try to move on and let it go.

Because those in Paris, Baghdad, Japan and Lebanon will be answer yes to all.

I may be naive to ask; 'why can't we all love each other?' But why? Why does that make me naive? What is wrong with loving each other? Why does it matter if someone is black or white? Or a Buddhist or a Muslim?

I have had friends of all faiths and worked with people from all cultural backgrounds and I have never once judged them for it because a judgemental mind is a poisoned one.

I'm going to leave this blog post here, I feel like I haven't written enough or written what I wanted to say, but the truth of the matter is, I can't because there are no specific words.

And there never will be.

"Darkness doesn't drive out darkness,
Only light can do that.
Hate doesn't drive out hate,
Only love can do that."

- Martin Luther King Jr.
